Why we chose these teas

Selected with care.
Ground for the brew.

We sourced and tasted each of these eight teas, choosing them for how well they pair with milk. They’re the teas we drink every day—and the ones we want to share with you.

We’ve chosen a specific grind for each of our eight teas, testing and tasting along the way to find what works best for each one in milk tea.

A few good questions

Before your first cup.

Which kit should I start with?

The Founder’s Kit brings together three teas: Jasmine Green, Da Hong Pao and Phoenix Dan Cong. The Explorer’s Kit contains the other five. Choose both to try all eight, with two shots of each tea.

Is this a pod or instant tea?

It’s real ground tea. Empty a 6g portion into your basket and brew, then add milk. The kits contain tea only.

Will it work with my espresso machine?

Friends repeated the core workflow on around ten home espresso machines. Flow varies by machine and basket. Check your machine’s instructions before brewing tea.

See the equipment guide ↗
How do I clean up?

Knock out the tea promptly and rinse the basket and group area after each shot. A paper filter on top of the tea can make cleanup easier.
