Privacy policy

CHAURA TEA LLC operates getchaura.com. This notice explains how we handle information when you browse our website, join our email list, or contact us.

Information we collect

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, your marketing consent and its time and wording, the page where you signed up, and limited campaign information such as whether you arrived through a demo QR code. We do not require an account, name, telephone number, or mailing address to join the list.

Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, page requests, and errors to deliver and protect the website. We also use website traffic measurements to understand how the site is used. Our signup service uses hashed IP addresses and email addresses for rate limiting. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message.

How we use and share information

With your consent, we send chaura launch updates, brewing ideas, tea stories, and occasional offers. We also use information to respond to requests, prevent abuse, maintain consent records, and operate our website. We do not sell our mailing list.

We use Shopify to manage customer and email subscription records and marketing emails, and Cloudflare to host, deliver, measure, and protect the website. These providers process information to provide their services. Shopify may also process information for its own platform purposes, as explained in its Consumer Privacy Policy. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for more about its processing. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect our services and legal rights.

Your choices

Signing up is voluntary. The consent box is not preselected. Browsing the site, creating an account, or placing an order does not by itself subscribe you to our marketing emails.

You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by emailing support@getchaura.com. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; it does not prevent necessary replies to your requests or order-related messages. We keep an opt-out record so we can respect your choice.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. For information handled by Shopify in its own capacity, you can also use the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Storage, security, and retention

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We retain subscription information while you remain subscribed and keep consent, opt-out, and other records as needed to honor your preferences, handle requests, and meet legal obligations. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Shopping bag selections may be stored in your browser so they persist between visits. Clearing browser storage removes those local selections. Linked services, including Shopify account pages, have their own privacy and storage practices.

Children and changes

Our email list is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it. We may update this notice as our services change and will update the date above.
